Produce a supplier action plan, so all banned substances can be
eliminated at the latest by early 2006.
Determine what substances are in the products from your suppliers. This
should be done by materials declaration by the supplier, not by
materials analysis. Concentrate first on key suppliers, and products
that are most likely to have banned substances in them
Work with suppliers to remove any banned substances by early 2006.
Consider using the materials declaration standard being put in place on
Rosettanet with your suppliers. This is currently being piloted and will
be available to everybody the second quarter of 2004.
