5th March 2004:Greece transposed the WEEE/RoHS legislation into Greek law by Presidential Decree no. 117. 31st December 2006:Producers' recovery and recycling targets to be met. 13th August 2005:Labelling obligations on producers will begin 1st July 2006:Substance bans under RoHS take effect for products put on the market after this date.

Key Differences from Other Member States
Scope: As per EU directive but includes both WEEE and RoHS under same legislation
Separate Collection: Arrangements will be organised by the compliance scheme(s), in collaboration with the local authorities. This could result in differences between regions
Historical Waste: Will be treated the same as new waste. Pay by market share.
Visible Fee: First 8 years (10 years for large appliances).
Finance Households: Self-compliance and financing guarantees or through a collective system. Producers pay according to market share based on weight.
Finance Business to Business:Producers unless the purchaser and supplier have agreed alternative arrangements. Historical waste costs to the producers replacement products
Compliance Schemes:Recycling of Appliances S.A. (electrocycle@internet.gr), which will cover both commercial/industrial and household WEEE.
