18th February 2005 : Transposition of WEEE/RoHS directive under one piece of legislation 24th November 2005: Producer registration to be completed March 2006: Producer responsibility delayed to 24th March 2006
Register:"Elektro-Altgeräte-Register" (EAR) with its headquarters in Fürth/Bavaria. This will later also be the clearing house. http://www.ear-projekt.de/
Separate Collection: Local authorities will be responsible for organising collection of WEEE from households. Producers via the clearing house will collect from local authorities. Local authorities can choose to recycle waste themselves.
Recovery/Recycling Targets: As per EU WEEE, however WEEE must be checked for its reusability as a product or as components.
Finance Households : Producers to be responsible only after collection by local Local Authorities.
Finance Business to Business Producers unless alternative arrangements have been made with the user.
