What are the standards/methods/procedures at EU level for checking compliance with the maximum concentration value requirements?

For a specific substance listed in RoHS what procedures need to be followed to get an exemption for a specific application?

 

Regarding the Maximum Concentration Value of hazardous substances banned under RoHS, has the EU passed any legislation specifying thresholds.

The thresholds are given in Commission Decision 2005/618/EC and are 0.1% by weight of lead, mercury hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated biphenyl ethers and 0.01% by weight of cadmium.

What are the standards/methods/procedures at EU level for checking compliance with the maximum concentration value requirements?

There is nothing in place - it will depend on each Member State.

For a specific substance listed in RoHS what procedures need to be followed to get an exemption for a specific application?

All requests go through the TAC for review. Also see the recent consultation process undertaken by ERA Technology on behalf of TAC and details on the exemptions sought
