Introduction

There has been considerable activity over recent months on WEEE, RoHS, REACH and the EuP directive. In addition other countries are starting to produce their own versions. California is applying RoHS to electronics that have displays greater than 4 inches diagonally, and China has introduced its version of RoHS that goes far beyond the EU versions and will apply to the whole supply chain. If you are effected by any of this legislation, then this is an essential event to attend.

The workshop will include an overview of the latest developments on global environmental legislation, plus an in depth look at what is happening on RoHS compliancy and exemptions, the progress of the REACH chemical directory which is likely to impact the electronics industry hard, plus a review of the up to date situation of what has been called the Chinese WEEE and RoHS directives.

To get to The Surrey Institute of Art and Design... By Car Because of the complicated one-way system, the easiest route is from the west, on the A325 leading into West Street. You reach the A325 via a roundabout on the A31 Farnham bypass. Proceed along the A325 towards the centre, and turn left up The Hart to the main entrance of the Institute. There is ample car parking associated with nearby stores on the right. By Train Trains leave London Waterloo for Farnham (via Woking) approximately every half hour. The journey takes between 45 minutes and an hour. It is a 10 minute walk from Farnham station to the Institute. Walk down Station Hill, cross the A31, and continue along South Street. Turn left into Union Road, which bears right into Downing Street. When you reach West Street (the main shopping street) turn left and continue for 200 metres before turning right into The Hart. The Institute is at the top of this short street. Taxis Taxis are usually available at Farnham station. The workshop fee is a special price of just £50.00 + vat for the half day and includes refreshments.
