Paul Dumble | Tuesday, September 17, 2002 - 01:59 pm Triple bottom line thinking can only be accomplished effectively if you are able to incorporate or pre-empt resource efficiency strategies (e.g. material reduction, waste min, fossil fuel reduction, energy efficiency etc) at the front end of product design specifications (rather than the current obsession with end of pipe solutions). IPP frameworks must articulate clear guidelines for the selection of materials/ products that designers/users at each part of the supply chain can clearly understand. Please remember that to most designers/ users, LCA etc may be goobledegook. |
