currently i'm doing a project concerning on domestic waste bin. My project is based in Malaysia, where the number of daily wastages is enormously high, of a 21 million population (year 2000) the number of solid waste per capita is up to 1.44 kg/day. Based on WNA 2001 outcomes in Taipei, Malaysian solid wastes contain very high organic waste and consequently high moisture content and bulk density of above 200kg/m3.
REcycling is a way to decrease the above numbers, and by 2020 the government has targeted 22% of waste to be recycled.
So my question is, how can the idea of a domestic waste bin is able to encourage people to recycle??
Ideas contributed means an effort contributed to a better living.

perhaps a bin split into sections, e.g one section for organic waste and one for packaging, then the organic waste is seperate and can be used for other means such as compost. just an idea.

and perhaps the elimination of the waste throughout the whole globe will be GREAT^^ but how will we do that? ^^ well, I think a simple composter is good enough for household usage...I believe that composter is quite new in southeast asia countries right, Tan??
