Thursday, February 14, 2002 - 02:20 pm Hi everyone. I'm currently writing an essay on product design and it's importance in everyday life- could anyone give me their opinions and viewpoints on how important sustainable design is for the future, and where they see the future of sustainable/product design heading? Thanks for your input.

Thursday, March 21, 2002 - 07:55 pm hello sustainable thinkers. Are you aware of any UK based courses on eco-design at postgraduate level? I know of one long distance in australia, but all UK ones seem to be 3 year undergraduate degree programmes. Any advice gratefully recieved.

Thursday, June 27, 2002 - 07:22 am sustainable future will need alot of input from the designers, i think but the consumers should be more educated in this issue also... what do you think? product design is a good way^^

Friday, June 28, 2002 - 05:02 pm Yes, I think that in order for sustainable product design to make way, consumers are going to need to become more aware of their impact on the environment and how they can do their bit (which in the long run is more than a bit) to reduce the already polluted and wasteful world.

Wednesday, July 03, 2002 - 12:33 pm I totally agree with you...but despite all the campaigns carried out, rules and regulations imposed by the government, how can education on this issue be passed out to the consumer? and I actually find it funny when you get to know that the more educated people are the one who create more pollution to the earth...right?? so...maybe, well, maybe I am just too pessimistic^^ hope the world can be better by design^^

Sunday, October 27, 2002 - 05:32 am Hello, I'm a High School student and my AP Environmental Studies class is working on the DfE (Design for the Environment) Project. The redesigned product needs to reduce the chemical waste used in the production, reduce the amount of materials used, make recycling easier and more efficient, and be cheaper for the consumer while enhancing the life of the product. But first I need an idea/product that needs to be redesigned to make it better for the enviromnment. If any of you feel strongly about a product, or just have an idea, I'd love to hear it.

Tuesday, July 08, 2003 - 02:32 pm Hello I'm a soon to be third year packaging design student and have started research on my dissertation. I'm going to base it on packaging environmental issues in business. Does anyone know of any supermarket chains/ high st. stores that use environmentally friendly packaging. I've already looked at Sainsburys and Muji.

Wednesday, April 28, 2004 - 01:11 pm My dissertation was on 'edible packaging' I came across one supermarket that has used that type of packaging in the early 80s. I wasn't accepted by consumers according to the company. Your dissertation must have been written by now but for anyone else interested type 'edible packaging' Essbare Verpackung, imballaggio commestibile, embalaje comestible' in any search engine and you'll find out a lot of information.
