Sustainable Innovation and Design (SID):
South-East Roadshow (2005-2007)

Organised by: The Centre for Sustainable Design (www.cfsd.org.uk)

Background
The UK Sustainable Development Strategy [SDS] (see http://www.sustainable-development.gov.uk) launched on 7th March 2005 highlighted a range of issues related to sustainable products, design and innovation - see Chapter 3. This coupled with the growing government interest in sustainable public procurement means that creating, designing and developing products with lower material and energy consumption will be of increasing importance.

The Centre for Sustainable Design (www.cfsd.org.uk) will facilitate a series of multi-stakeholder discussions on these issues with the aim of 'adding value' to the emerging debate. Speakers will comment on their future visions for sustainable innovation and design.
